Target Background

Function

Involved in the oxidative degradation of abscisic acid. Plays an important role in determining abscisic acid levels in dry seeds and in the control of postgermination growth.

CYP707A1 is expressed in Arabidopsis seeds predominantly during mid-maturation and is down-regulated during late-maturation and plays a distinct role in seed development and postgermination growth. PMID: 16543410
CYP707A1 inactivates local abscisic acid pools inside the guard cells of Arabidopsis. PMID: 19036833
