Target Background

Function

Required for the initiation of lateral roots independent from auxin signaling. May function in maintaining the pericycle in the mitotically competent state needed for lateral root formation.

ALF4 is induced in galls and giant cells formed by Meloidogyne javanica in roots and hypocotyls. PMID: 29573275
Data indicate that a plant-specific transcription factor ABERRANT LATERAL ROOT FORMATION4 (ALF4) is required for the initiation of protoplast division. PMID: 23903317
