Target Background

Function

Metallopeptidase that binds to the auxin transport inhibitor N-1-naphthylphthalamic acid (NPA). Required for embryonic and seedling development as well as cell cycle progression. Homodimerization is required to proper localization and activity. May play a negative role in the regulation of PIN auxin transport proteins.

APM1 localized to the cytoplasm, and its over-expression in the root hair cell caused longer root hair phenotypes. PMID: 23065197
results suggest that both the catalytic and interaction domains are necessary for APM1 function but that APM1 function and dimerization do not require these domains to be present in the same linear molecule PMID: 20154099
APM1 is associated with embryonic and seedling development. PMID: 19531600
