Target Background

Function
This magnesium-dependent enzyme catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the transport of calcium. Has a role in the secretory pathway.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Data show that calcium stimulates endoplasmic reticulum and late endosome/trans- to cis-Golgi manganese delivery and bypasses the need for Ca(2+)/Mn(2+)-transporting P-type ATPase Pmr1. PMID: 25713143
  2. Results establish that Pmr1-dependent Ca2+ and/or Mn2+ ion homeostasis is necessary for TOR signaling. PMID: 17095607
  3. PMR1 functions involved drug resistance and Golgi apparatus PMID: 17314395
  4. Pmr1p has a central role in cell survival in a Cd2+-rich environment. PMID: 18510555
Subcellular Location
Golgi apparatus membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Protein Families
Cation transport ATPase (P-type) (TC 3.A.3) family
