Target Background

Function
Activates the ARF proteins by exchanging bound GDP for free GTP. Plays a role in vesicular protein sorting. Acts as the major regulator of early endosomal vesicle trafficking but is also involved in the endocytosis process. Target of hopM1, a conserved Pseudomonas syringae virulence protein that directs the protein to its own proteasome-mediated degradation. Plays a broad role in PAMP-triggered immunity (PTI), effector-triggered immunity (ETI), and salicylic acid (SA)-regulated immunity.
Gene References into Functions
  1. HLB1 together with MIN7/BEN1 form a complex with actin to modulate the function of the trans-Golgi network (TGN)/early endosome (EE) at the intersection of the exocytic and endocytic pathways in plants. PMID: 26941089
  2. HopM1 enhances the growth of Pseudomonas syringae pv tomato strain DC3000 in salicylic acid-signaling deficient plants. AtMIN7 contributes to Pph-induced PR-1 expression. PMID: 24324742
  3. BEN1 and BEN2 are collectively required for polar PIN localization, for their dynamic repolarization, and consequently for auxin activity gradient formation and auxin-related developmental processes. [BEN1] PMID: 23737757
  4. AtMIN7 is an immunity-associated protein which is the target for P. syringae virulence protein, HopM1; HopM1 mediates the destruction of AtMIN7 via the host proteasome [AtMIN7] PMID: 16840699
Subcellular Location
Cytoplasm, cytosol. Golgi apparatus, trans-Golgi network membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side. Early endosome membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side. Note=Soluble and partially membrane-bound.
