Target Background

Function

The COMPASS (Set1C) complex specifically mono-, di- and trimethylates histone H3 to form H3K4me1/2/3, which subsequently plays a role in telomere length maintenance and transcription elongation regulation.

Gene References into Functions

Bre2 and Sdc1 are shown to directly interact, and it is shown that the association of this heteromeric complex is needed for proper H3K4 methylation and gene expression to occur. PMID: 19897479
