Target Background

Function
After the onset of mitosis, forms a ring-like structure which colocalizes with the medial actin ring. Appears to mediate cytoskeletal rearrangements required for cytokinesis. Essential for viability.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Septation initiation network and Clp1p/Flp1p contribute to maintenance of the actomyosin ring in late mitosis through Cdc15p, possibly by regulating its phosphorylation status.(Cdc15) (actomyosin) PMID: 16687577
  2. Cdc15p associates with trans-Golgi membranes through its middle domain and controls Bgs1 delivery from the Golgi apparatus to the plasma membrane. PMID: 25159149
  3. Cdc15 contributes to contractile ring formation and cytokinesis via formin Cdc12 recruitment, defining a novel cytokinetic function for an F-BAR domain. PMID: 25688133
  4. Cdc15 phosphoregulation impels both assembly and disassembly of the contractile apparatus. PMID: 20603077
  5. cdc15p functions to organize lipid rafts at the cleavage site for cytokinesis PMID: 15517003
