Target Background

Function

Promotes the exchange of Ras-bound GDP by GTP. This protein positively controls the level of cellular cAMP at start, the stage at which the yeast cell division cycle is triggered.

Carried out stochastic simulations, in particular, the effect of the negative feedback loops on the activity of both Ira2 (a Ras-GAP) and Cdc25 (a Ras-GEF) proteins. PMID: 21741466
Taken together, these results suggest that Cdc25 is involved in the regulation of cell size in the presence of different carbon sources. PMID: 16549685
Glucose-induced Ras2 activation was investigated in mutants lacking the N-terminal domain of Cdc25 or the entire CDC25; results suggest that the signal did not sustain the glucose-induced increase of Ras2-GTP normally observed in a wild-type strain. PMID: 17727662
