Target Background

Function
Stabilizes specific chloroplast mRNAs. Required for normal chloroplast development under cold stress conditions by stabilizing transcripts of numerous mRNAs under these conditions.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Data indicate that minor light-harvesting complexes (Lhcs) CP24, CP26 and CP29 are crucial for the functioning and macro-organization of photosystem II. PMID: 25291424
  2. CP31A and CP29A associate with large, overlapping sets of chloroplast transcripts. PMID: 23110894
  3. High light induced disassembly of photosystem II supercomplexes in Arabidopsis requires STN7-dependent phosphorylation of CP29. PMID: 21915352
  4. Within the red absorbing antenna chlorophylls (chls) of a single chl-protein complex in photosystem II antenna complex CP29, a marked spectral band shape heterogeneity exists, wherein no evidence of significantly strong excitonic interactions is found. PMID: 20047285
Subcellular Location
Plastid, chloroplast.
