Target Background

Function

Probable subunit of the chloroplast NAD(P)H dehydrogenase (NDH) complex of the photosynthetic electron transport chain. Required for both formation and activity of NDH. May function in assembly or stabilization of the NDH complex.

Gene References into Functions

The process of supercomplex formation was triggered before the completion of the NDH assembly. Consistent with its predicted function, CRR3 accumulated in young leaves, where the NDH complex was assembled. PMID: 29203556
The CRR3 gene (At2g01590) encodes a novel protein containing a putative plastid-targeting signal and a transmembrane domain and is localized to the membrane fraction of chloroplasts. PMID: 17041026
