Target Background

Catalyzes N-acetylation of tryptamine, tyramine, dopamine, serotonin and octopamine. In astrocytes, regulates sleep homeostasis by limiting the accumulation of serotonin and dopamine in the brain upon sleep deprivation. Is not essential for sclerotization.
