DRB2-associated translational inhibition appears to be less ubiquitous and specifically aimed toward responses against abiotic or biotic stimuli. PMID: 26387911
DRB2 is part of a repressive epigenetic regulator complex involved in a negative feedback loop, adjusting epigenetic state to transcription level at transposable element loci. PMID: 25849103
Unlike DRB2, DRB3 and DRB5 are not involved in the double stranded RNA processing stages of the microRNA (miRNA) biogenesis pathway, but are required to mediate RNA silencing of target genes of DRB2-associated miRNAs. PMID: 22902697
Examination of different single and multiple drb mutants revealed a clear association between the loss of DRB2 activity and altered accumulation for both the elevated and reduced miRNA classes. PMID: 22545148
show that the double-stranded RNA binding proteins DRB2 and DRB4 are required for proper accumulation of p4-siRNAs. PMID: 21700726
