Target Background

Function

Microtubule-associated force-producing protein involved in clathrin-mediated vesicle trafficking from the trans-Golgi network to the central vacuole. Able to bind and hydrolyze GTP. Binds specifically to phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate (PtdIns3P).

It was found that all tested variants of AVR3a suppress defense responses triggered by flg22 and reduce internalization of activated FLS2. Moreover, AVR3a associates with the Dynamin-Related Protein 2 (DRP2), a plant GTPase implicated in receptor-mediated endocytosis. [DRP2A] PMID: 26348328
