Description

The generation of the ENT1 polyclonal antibody begins with the selection of the recombinant Arabidopsis thaliana ENT1 protein (255-299aa) as the immunogen. This protein is used to immunize a rabbit, inducing an antibody response. Subsequently, serum is collected from the rabbit to obtain polyclonal antibodies, which are then purified through affinity chromatography. The ENT1 antibody can react with Arabidopsis thaliana ENT1 protein, and its functionality has been validated through ELISA and WB assays.

The main function of Arabidopsis thaliana ENT1 protein is to transport nucleosides across the cell membrane. It plays a crucial role in the uptake and distribution of nucleosides, which are essential for various cellular processes such as DNA and RNA synthesis, energy metabolism, and signaling pathways. ENT1 protein helps maintain the balance of nucleosides inside the cell and facilitates their utilization in different cellular functions.

Target Background

Function
Nucleoside transporter involved in adenosine transport and required for nucleotide metabolism which influences growth and pollen germination. Has high affinity for adenosine when expressed in a heterologous system (yeast).
Gene References into Functions
  1. ENT1-mediated nucleosides, especially adenosine transport, is important for nucleotide metabolism, thus influencing growth and pollen germination. PMID: 21642237
Subcellular Location
Vacuole membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Note=Tonoplast.
Protein Families
SLC29A/ENT transporter (TC 2.A.57) family
Tissue Specificity
In young seedlings, expressed in root elongation zone, root cortex, root-hair, at the transition to the shoot and cotyledons. Expressed in hydathodes of fully developed leaves and pollen.
