Target Background

Function
Acts as a transcriptional repressor. Binds to the GCC-box pathogenesis-related promoter element. Involved in the regulation of gene expression by stress factors and by components of stress signal transduction pathways, and could also regulate other AtERFs.
Gene References into Functions
  1. AtERF4 plays an important role as a negative regulator of Fe deficiency responses. PMID: 29045490
  2. AtERF4 and AtERF8 regulated the expression of many genes involved in the progression of leaf senescence. PMID: 23629833
  3. AtERF4 domains bind to a target DNA motif with a universal CG step core recognition and different flanking bases preference PMID: 19878300
Subcellular Location
Nucleus.
Protein Families
AP2/ERF transcription factor family, ERF subfamily
