Target Background

Function
Component of SCF(ASK-cullin-F-box) E3 ubiquitin ligase complexes, which may mediate the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins. Involved in the control of basipetal and acropetal auxin transport by promoting the distribution and expression of the auxin transporter PIN2. Promotes cytokinin-mediated cell expansion in the root elongation and differentiation zone, without affecting root cell division.
Gene References into Functions
  1. AUXIN UP-REGULATED F-BOX PROTEIN1 (AUF1) and its potential paralog AUF2 were identified as important positive modifiers of root elongation that tether auxin movements to cytokinin signaling in Arabidopsis.[AUF1] PMID: 21653785
Subcellular Location
Nucleus.
