Target Background

Function
Required for the establishment of systemic acquired resistance (SAR). Not involved in local defense mechanisms. Confers a salicylic acid-dependent (SA) resistance to virulent pathogens such as P.syringae pv tomato and H.parasitica.
Gene References into Functions
  1. The FMO1 gene product in systemic tissue is critical for the development of systemic acquired resistance (SAR). PMID: 16778014
  2. The isolation and characterization of a class 3 flavin-containing mono-oxygenase (FMO1) in A. thaliana is reported. PMID: 16856982
  3. FMO1 and NUDT7 are important for signaling through an EDS1-dependent but SA-independent branch of plant defense and FMO1 positively regulates the EDS1 pathway. [FMO1] PMID: 16531493
