Function

Involved in the export of FT from the phloem companion cells to the sieve elements through the plasmodesmata. Regulates flowering time under long days.

The FE protein regulates the expression of FTIP1 involved in FT transport.FE protein promotes flowering through transcriptional activation of FT and Ftip1. PMID: 26239308
Flowering locus T (FT) moves in a regulated manner and FTIP1 mediates FT transport to induce flowering. [FTIP1] PMID: 22529749
