Target Background

Function
Major component of the RACK1 regulatory proteins that play a role in multiple signal transduction pathways. Involved in multiple hormone responses and developmental processes. MAPK cascade scaffolding protein involved in the protease IV and ArgC signaling pathway but not the flg22 pathway.
Gene References into Functions
  1. the genes responsible for two additional suppressor mutants of acl5-1 designated sac53-d and sac56-d encode a receptor for activated C kinase 1 (RACK1) homolog and a ribosomal protein L4 (RPL4), respectively PMID: 25625317
  2. In total 97 proteins from dehydration, salt stress, ribosomal and photosynthesis pathways are found to potentially interact with RACK1A. PMID: 23435172
  3. RACK1 ensures the accumulation and processing of some miRNA precursors, directly interacts with SERRATE and is part of an AGO1 complex PMID: 23941160
  4. RACK1A protein can form complexes with the gamma subunit of the signal transducing heterotrimeric G protein. PMID: 22068106
  5. RACK1 may be required for normal production of 60S and 80S ribosomes and that its action in these processes may be regulated by abscissic acid. [RACK1A] PMID: 21098678
  6. RACK1A (At1g18080) is involved in multiple signal transduction pathways. PMID: 16829549
  7. RACK1A (At1g18080) is positively regulated by other RACK1 genes. Loss of function causes defect in plant development. PMID: 18947417
  8. RACK1 genes act redundantly to negatively regulate abscisic acid responses during seed germination and early seedling development. PMID: 19584117
