Target Background

Function
Involved in regulation of circadian rhythm, and in the control of the photoperiodic flowering. Acts as suppressor of flowering under short-day (SD) and long-day (LD) conditions. Activates Hd1/CONSTANS gene.
Gene References into Functions
  1. OsPhyA influences flowering time mainly by affecting the expression of OsGI under short day and Ghd7 under long day when phytochrome B is absent. PMID: 27039184
  2. Os-GIGANTEA controlled 75% (false discovery rate = 0.05) of genes among 27,201 genes tested and was required for strong amplitudes and fine-tuning of the diurnal rhythm phases of global gene expression in the field. PMID: 21571948
