Target Background

Function

Chaperone essential for folding and oligomerization of both long and short tail fibers. Required for the assembly of gp34, gp36 and gp37 (components of the long tail fiber) and p12 (the subunit of the short tail fiber). Together with gp38, participates in the formation of the distal part of the long fibers.
