Target Background

Function
Seems to mediate cell cycle arrest before mitosis in response to DNA damage. Is probably also involved in the transition from mitosis to endoreduplication.
Gene References into Functions
  1. AtCOM1 is related to the human CtIP and the yeast COM1/SAE2 gene. Results indicate that the COM1/SAE2 homologue exists in various higher eukaryotes and that it is essential for female and male meiosis in A. thaliana. [COM1] PMID: 18007598
  2. GR1 and GR2 are involved in the regulation of Succinic semialdehyde detoxification in plants. PMID: 18495640
Subcellular Location
Nucleus.
Tissue Specificity
Basal levels in mitotically dividing cells (meristems), and high levels in endoreduplicating cells (stipules, trichomes) (at protein level).
