Target Background

Function
May only reduce GSH-thiol disulfides, but not protein disulfides (Potential). Probably involved in the regulation of the redox state of the BOLA proteins (Potential). May act as Fe-S cluster donors to Fe-S cluster-requiring proteins. May protect cells against protein oxidative damage. May regulate CAX cation transporters. The GRXS14-BOLA1 heterodimer binds a labile, oxygen sensitive Fe-S cluster.
