Target Background

Function
Abscisic acid receptor. The GDP-bound form exhibits greater abscisic acid binding than the GTP-bound form. Required for seedling growth and fertility.
Gene References into Functions
  1. The results provide evidence of a binding-interaction between abscisic acid (ABA) and GTG1 in vitro and in vivo, in support of the previously proposed possibility of a biologically relevant interaction between GTG1 and ABA. PMID: 23624020
  2. Study identifies 2 proteins homologous to an orphan vertebrate GPCR (GPR89) and interact with the Arabidopsis G protein alpha subunit, GPA1, have intrinsic GTP-binding and GTPase activity; these proteins are named GTG1 (At1g64990) and GTG2. PMID: 19135895
Subcellular Location
Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Golgi apparatus membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Protein Families
Golgi pH regulator (TC 1.A.38) family
Tissue Specificity
Expressed in cotyledons, leaves, stems, roots, flowers and guard cells.
