Target Background

Function

Involved in cyanogenesis, the release of HCN from injured tissues. Displays R-selective hydroxynitrile lyase activity. Also accepts nitromethane (MeNO2) as a donor in a reaction with aromatic aldehydes to yield (R)-beta-nitro alcohols.
