Target Background

Function
Component of the outer cell wall layer. Required for stability of the cell wall and for optimal growth. Required for resistance against several antifungal and cell wall-perturbing agents and for tolerance to heat shock.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Results from clinical isolates of S. cerevisiae found Hsp150 to be expressed at higher levels which presumably contribute to strain virulence and fungal pathogenicity. PMID: 26270963
  2. Authentic Hsp150 from the yeast culture medium, as well as Hsp150 and the C-terminal fragment produced in Escherichia coli, exhibited ATPase activity nearly three times higher than the published activity of the chaperone Kar2p/BiP. PMID: 21446055
  3. a soluble cargo protein, Hsp150, is selected actively and specifically to budding sites lacking normal Sec24p by a signature residing in its C-terminal domain PMID: 15075228
  4. It is highly probable that the modified Ccw7 protein does not contribute to the increased hydrophobicity of film-forming strains but it may influence molecular reorganization of the cell wall during stress adaptation. PMID: 18657192
Subcellular Location
Secreted, cell wall. Note=Covalently attached to the cell wall.
Protein Families
PIR protein family
