Target Background

Function
Required for the transduction of auxin and abscisic acid (ABA) signaling pathways. Dephosphorylates and inactivates the MAP kinase MPK12.
Gene References into Functions
  1. IBR5 encodes a putative dual-specificity protein phosphatase. The accumulation of CHS3 protein at chilling temperatures is inhibited by the IBR5 mutation. PMID: 26451844
  2. Microarray analysis of tink/ibr5-6 mutants identified a likely role for this phosphatase in male gametophyte development. IBR5 may influence the size and shape of petals through auxin and TCP growth regulatory pathways. PMID: 26147117
  3. Data suggest that IBR5 is a phosphatase that promotes auxin responses, including auxin-inducible transcription, differently than the TIR1 auxin receptor and without destabilizing Aux/IAA repressor proteins. PMID: 18423007
  4. Arabidopsis iba response5 suppressors separate responses to various hormones PMID: 18832358
  5. IBR5 is a MAPK phosphatase that dephosphorylates and inactivates MPK12. PMID: 19000167
  6. IBR5 is an apparent MAP kinase phosphatase. ibr5 mutants display reduced responses to auxin and abscisic acid (ABA). PMID: 14630970
