Target Background

Function
Required for the ingression of the plasma membrane into the bud neck at the end of cytokinesis, leading to the separation of the mother and daughter cells. Stimulates the synthesis of the primary septum (PS) by CHS2.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Dephosphorylation of Inn1 is important for its function in promoting cytokinesis. PMID: 22454527
  2. Data indicate that recruitment of the C2 domain of Inn1 to the contractile actomyosin ring is crucial for ingression of the plasma membrane during cytokinesis in budding yeast. PMID: 18344988
Subcellular Location
Bud neck. Note=Localizes at the contractile actinomyosin ring at the end of cytokinesis. Recruitment to the bud neck requires either CYK2 or CYK3.
Protein Families
INN1/fic1 family
