Target Background

Function
ATPase component of the INO80 complex which remodels chromatin by shifting nucleosomes and is involved in DNA repair. Its ability to induce transcription of some phosphate-responsive genes is modulated by inositol polyphosphates. The INO80 complex is involved in DNA repair by associating with 'Ser-129' phosphorylated H2A histones as a response to DNA damage.
Gene References into Functions
  1. INO80 translocates along DNA at the H2A-H2B interface of nucleosomes and persistently displaces DNA from the surface of H2A-H2B. The data suggest that INO80 has a mechanism for dimer exchange that is distinct from other chromatin remodellers including its paralogue SWR1. PMID: 28604691
  2. The INO80 complex is a central component of metabolic homeostasis that influences histone acetylation and may contribute to disease when disrupted. PMID: 29462149
  3. Mot1, Ino80 chromatin remodeling complex (Ino80C), and NC2 co-localize on chromatin and coordinately suppress pervasive transcription in S. cerevisiae. PMID: 28735899
  4. Arp5Delta, Ies6Delta, and INO80Delta mutants demonstrate decreased expression of genes involved in glycolysis and increased expression of genes in the oxidative phosphorylation pathway. PMID: 26755556
  5. Results identify INO80 as a bona fide component of the proteolytic pathway for RNAPII degradation and suggest that INO80 nucleosome remodeling activity promotes the dissociation of ubiquitinated Rpb1 from chromatin to protect the integrity of the genome. PMID: 26656161
  6. Arp5-Ies6 interacts with chromatin via assembly with the INO80 complex, as IES2 and INO80 deletion results in loss of Arp5-Ies6 chromatin association PMID: 26306040
  7. INO80 can activate Rad53 kinase activity in an Ies4-phosphorylation-dependent manner in the absence of known activators such as Rad9. PMID: 25959398
  8. Both remodelers, Ino80p and Snf2p are required to recruit RNA polymerase II and targeted histone acetylation, indicating that remodelers are recruited to the CUP1 promoter before RNA polymerase II and histone acetylases. PMID: 24471920
  9. INO80 chromatin remodeler is shown to act downstream from Mec1 to increase chromatin mobility, highlighting an additional damage-related role of this nucleosome remodeling complex PMID: 24029917
  10. Interactions between the nucleosome histone core and Arp8 in the INO80 chromatin remodeling complex PMID: 23213201
  11. INO80 maintains genome stability. PMID: 23207916
  12. these data provide a mechanism for cross talk within transcriptional co-activators Ino80p and Snf2p during INO1 activation. PMID: 22281492
  13. Isw2 and Ino80 are both enriched at stalled replication forks and physically and specifically interact with a single-stranded DNA binding protein, replication protein A PMID: 21930788
  14. INO80 moved arrays of two or three nucleosomes with 50 or 79 bp of linker DNA closer together, with a final length of approximately 30 bp of linker DNA or a repeat length of approximately 177 bp. PMID: 21135121
  15. In the absence of INO80, H2A.Z nucleosomes are mislocalized, and H2A.Z levels at promoters show reduced responsiveness to transcriptional changes, suggesting that INO80 controls H2A.Z dynamics. PMID: 21241891
  16. These results demonstrate a critical role of INO80 in creating DNA accessibility for the NER pathway and provide direct evidence that repair of UV lesions and perhaps most bulky adduct lesions requires chromatin reconfiguration. PMID: 20855601
  17. INO80 complex is required for the proper establishment of sister chromatid cohesion. PMID: 17471029
  18. Ies3p subunit of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae INO80 chromatin remodeling complex interacts with a conserved tetratricopeptide repeat domain of the telomerase protein Est1p. PMID: 17562861
  19. The Ies4 subunit of the INO80 complex is phosphorylated by the Mec1/Tel1 kinases during exposure to DNA-damaging agents PMID: 17693258
  20. enriched at stalled replication forks, where it promotes the resumption of replication upon recovery from fork arrest PMID: 18406137
  21. SWI/SNF and INO80 are present at the INO1 promoter and are restricted to the promoter, indicating that they directly participate in localized INO1 chromatin remodeling. PMID: 18593569
  22. Chromatin remodeling by INO80 in cooperation with Spt6 determines the shape of the expression profile under acute stress conditions, possibly by an elongation-dependent mechanism. PMID: 19620280
