Function

Involved in the synthesis of the hemicellulose glucuronoxylan, a major component of secondary cell walls. Probably involved in the elongation of glucuronoxylan xylosyl backbone.

Gene References into Functions

IRX10 and IRX10-L perform a critical function in the synthesis of glucuronoxylan during secondary cell-wall formation. PMID: 18980649
IRX10 and IRX10-L act redundantly and are required for xylan chain elongation. PMID: 18980662
