Target Background

Function
Kinesin that supports microtubule movement in an ATP-dependent manner and has a minus-end directed polarity. Plays a crucial role in spindle morphogenesis in male meiosis. In mitosis, is required for normal microtubule accumulation at the spindle poles during prophase and may play a role in spindle assembly during prometaphase.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Arabidopsis AtKIN14a and AtKIN14b genes encoding highly similar kinesins are two of the most closely related Arabidopsis paralogs. They together play important roles in controlling plant reproductive development. [AtKIN14a] PMID: 18088313

Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton, spindle. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton, phragmoplast. Chromosome, centromere, kinetochore. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton.
Protein Families
TRAFAC class myosin-kinesin ATPase superfamily, Kinesin family, KIN-14 subfamily
