Target Background

Function

Required for the recruitment of hcp-3, hcp-4, knl-1, bub-1 and lin-53 to kinetochores, kinetochore assembly, chromosome condensation and chromosome segregation in meiosis and mitosis.

RbAp46/48LIN-53 localizes to the centromere during metaphase in a CENP-A (HCP-3)- and M18BP1KNL-2-dependent manner, suggesting CENP-A loading may occur before anaphase. PMID: 26904949
KNL-2 is specifically required for CENP-A incorporation into chromatin. PMID: 17339379
