Target Background

Function
Involved in regulation of various organellar membrane contact sites. May be involved in sterol transfer between intracellular membranes. Selectively transports sterols between membranes in vitro. Involved in stress-dependent formation of sterol-enriched vacuolar membrane domains.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Ltc1 and Ltc3/4 function at the vacuole and plasma membrane, respectively, to create membrane domains that partition upstream regulators of the TORC1 and TORC2 signaling pathways to coordinate cellular stress responses with sterol homeostasis. PMID: 28774891
  2. Lam6 is essential for the cross-talk between cellular organelles. PMID: 26119743
  3. At vacuoles, Ltc1 was required for sterol-enriched membrane domain formation in response to stress. PMID: 25987606
Subcellular Location
Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Single-pass membrane protein.
Protein Families
YSP2 family
