Target Background

Function

Cytokinin-activating enzyme working in the direct activation pathway. Phosphoribohydrolase that converts inactive cytokinin nucleotides to the biologically active free-base forms.

Gene References into Functions

LOG7 was required for the maintenance of shoot apical meristem size. LOG7 was also suggested to play a role for normal primary root growth together with LOG3 and LOG4. PMID: 22059596
Results strongly suggest that the direct activation pathway via LOGs plays a pivotal role in regulating cytokinin activity during normal growth and development. A Multiple Insertion Mutant, log3 log4 log7, Shows Altered Root and Shoot Morphology. PMID: 19837870
