Target Background

Function
May be not required for the accumulation of phytic acid in seeds. Phytic acid is the primary storage form of phosphorus in cereal grains and other plant seeds.
Gene References into Functions
  1. At3g45090 and At5g60760 are similar to OsLpa1 gene from rice which encodes a protein required for wild-type levels of seed phytic acid. A double knockout mutant of two genes indicated that At5g60760 but not At3g45090 provided functional redundancy. PMID: 20734061
