Target Background

Function
Associated component of the MCM complex that acts as a regulator of DNA replication. Binds to the MCM complex during late S phase and may act by promoting the disassembly of the MCM complex from chromatin. Required for sister chromatid cohesion.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Depletion of the evolutionarily conserved minichromosome maintenance helicase-binding protein ETG1 resulted in a stringent late G2 cell cycle arrest. PMID: 20090939
  2. ETG1 protein, an important replication factor, is a component of the replication fork that is necessary to maintain genome stability during S phase and that deficiency of ETG1 might generate DNA damage and genome instability.[ETG1] PMID: 18528439
Subcellular Location
Nucleus. Note=Associates with the replisome complex.
Protein Families
MCMBP family
