Target Background

Function
Regulatory light chain for the class II conventional myosin MYO1. May play a role in the disassembly of the MYO1 ring at the bud neck at the end of its contraction during cytokinesis.
Gene References into Functions
  1. Myo1p is the first example of a myosin whose cellular function does not require a catalytic motor domain revealing a novel mechanism of action for budding yeast myosin-II independent of actin binding and ATPase activity. PMID: 16148042
Subcellular Location
Bud neck. Note=Forms a ring at the bud neck in a MYO1-dependent manner.
