Target Background

Function
Essential for male fertility, especially for microspore and pollen grain production. Involved in the regulation of cell division after male meiosis I and II to facilitate exit from meiosis and transition to G1.
Gene References into Functions
  1. TDM1 is an APC/C component whose function is to ensure meiosis termination. PMID: 26871453
  2. identify two genes TDM1 and JAS with critical functions in cell cycle transitions and spindle organization in male meiosis, as DUET targets, with TDM1 being a direct target PMID: 26348709
  3. Results propose a model that meiotic progression in Arabidopsis pollen mother cells is driven by a yet to be identified cyclin-CDK activity that is modulated by regulatory interactions between TDM1, SMG7, and TAM (CYCA1;2) PMID: 21119056
Subcellular Location
Nucleus.
Protein Families
MS5 protein family
Tissue Specificity
Expressed at low levels mostly in floral organs during meiosis. Also barely detectable in leaves, stems and roots.
