Target Background

Function

Involved in high-affinity nitrate transport. Required for the nitrate uptake-independent plant growth promotion and lateral root response to the rhizospheric Phyllobacterium.

Gene References into Functions

NRT2.5 and NRT2.6, which are preferentially expressed in leaves, play an essential role in plant growth promotion by the rhizospheric bacterium STM196. PMID: 23398541
A correlation was found between NRT2.6 expression and ROS species accumulation in response to infection by E. amylovora and treatment with the redox-active herbicide methyl viologen. PMID: 22880003
