Target Background

Function
Component of the nuclear pore complex. Acts as a docking site for activities required for desumoylation and mRNA export. Required for the proper expression or localization of a subset of miRNAs. Plays a role in meristematic cell division by interacting with spindle assembly checkpoint proteins.
Gene References into Functions
  1. These data indicate that NUA is a component of nuclear pore-associated steps of sumoylation and mRNA export in plants and that defects in these processes affect the signaling events of flowering time regulation and additional developmental processes.[NUA] PMID: 17513499
Subcellular Location
Nucleus envelope. Nucleus membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Nucleoplasmic side. Nucleus, nuclear pore complex.
Tissue Specificity
Ubiquitous. Highest expression in the shoot apical region.
