Target Background

Function

This protein is an auxiliary protein of DNA polymerase delta and is involved in the control of eukaryotic DNA replication by increasing the polymerase's processibility during elongation of the leading strand. May be involved in UV resistance.

Arabidopsis PCNA1 and PCNA2 differ in their efficiency for ubiquitination and sumoylation, leading to their differential responses to DNA damage in yeast cells. PMID: 25728088
