Target Background

Function
Positive regulator of proteins involved in permeability. PDR1 and PDR3 jointly control the transcription level of both SNQ2 and PDR5.
Gene References into Functions
  1. In response to organic solvent stress, only Pdr3p contributed to the regulation of downstream genes of the PDR pathway, while Pdr1p had a rather inhibitory role on transcriptional induction PMID: 25487302
  2. bakers yeast containing mutations within the transcriptional regulator Pdr1 has been used to overexpress various membrane proteins including for example the ABC transporters Pdr5 and Yor1, respectively PMID: 25036752
  3. Unfolding of Zuo1's C-terminal helical bundle domain results in ribosome dissociation followed by activation of Pdr1 via a direct interaction. PMID: 23036859
  4. Organic-solvent tolerance in Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain on point mutation of the transcription factor Pdr1p. PMID: 18469127
  5. Aus1 and Pdr11 are required for sterol uptake. PMID: 19060182
