Target Background

Function
Acts as a component of the auxin efflux carrier. Mediates the initial auxin gradient which contributes to the establishment of the apical-basal axis in early embryogenesis.
Gene References into Functions
  1. The exit from the plateau phase correlates with an increase in auxin signalling at the tip of the young lateral roots. These data suggests that the developmental increase in auxin triggers the preferential derepression of PIN7 in gravity-sensing columella cells. The subsequent polarization of PIN7 heralds the bending towards gravity and, hence, the exit from the plateau phase. PMID: 29671782
  2. Functional interplay between protein kinase CK2 and salicylic acid sustains PIN7 transcriptional expression. PMID: 24547808
  3. APSR1 is required for the coordination of cell processes necessary for correct root growth in response to phosphate starvation conceivably by direct or indirect modulation of PIN7. PMID: 23498857
  4. PIN7 controls Lateral root initiation (LRI) by a mechanism distinct to PIN3. PMID: 23178590
  5. suggest that 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid treatment increased PIN3 and PIN7 expression, resulting in elevated auxin transport, which prevented the localized accumulation of auxin needed to drive lateral root formation PMID: 21771812
  6. NOV is required for region-specific expression of PIN7 in leaf primordia and for cell type-specific expression of PIN7 in the root. PMID: 19880797
