Target Background

Function
Acylhydrolase that catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphatidylcholine (PC) at the sn-1 position. High activity toward PC, medium activity toward monogalactosyldiacylglycerol (MGDG) and low activity toward triacylglycerol (TAG). Confers sensitivity to UV-B radiation probably by deesterifying membrane phospholipids.
Gene References into Functions
  1. This study demonstrates that AT2g42690, a phylogenetically conserved enzyme, is responsible for the accumulation of acyl-monogalactosyl diacylglycerol in A. thaliana. PMID: 26566971
Subcellular Location
Cytoplasm.
Protein Families
AB hydrolase superfamily, Lipase family
Tissue Specificity
Expressed in leaves, stems, flowers and siliques, and, at low levels, in seeds and roots (at protein level).
