Target Background

Function
Proton-coupled purine transporter mediating adenine and trans-zeatin uptake. High affinity transporter for pyridoxine involved in the uptake of vitamin B6. Also able to transport caffeine and adenosine. May be involved in the uptake of cytokinin, caffeine and nicotine from the xylem sap into shoot tissues.
