Target Background

Function

Calcium-binding peroxygenase involved in the degradation of storage lipid in oil bodies. May be involved in the interaction between oil bodies and vacuoles during seed germination. Acts as a negative regulator of abscisic acid responses in non-seed tissues.

Data indicate that linoleic and linolenic acids were the preferred substrates for PXG4 (AT1G70670; AtClO4); they are oxidized into the different positional isomers of the monoepoxides and into diepoxides. PMID: 22913587
The oil-body -associated Ca(2+)-binding AtCLO4 protein acts as a negative regulator of abscissic acid responses in Arabidopsis.[AtCLO4] PMID: 21471120
