Target Background

Function
Member of the two-component regulatory system QseF/QseE involved in the regulation of virulence and metabolism in EHEC. Required for pedestal formation in host epithelial cells during infection. Regulates various metabolic and virulence genes, many iron-utilization genes and some two-component systems such as RcsB/RcsC and PhoP/PhoQ. Activates, indirectly, transcription of EspF(U) to induce pedestal formation.
