Target Background

Function

Serine/threonine kinase which activates checkpoint signaling upon genotoxic stresses. Involved in G2 arrest following DNA damage where it phosphorylates chk1. Phosphorylation of 'Thr-73' and 'Ser-80' of checkpoint mediator crb2 promotes its interaction with chk1. It is also involved in the dependence of mitosis on the completion of DNA replication.
