Target Background

Function

This protein is a negative regulator of both sexual conjugation and meiosis. It phosphorylates mei2. It blocks the onset of meiosis until conjugation takes place.

Gene References into Functions

Phosphorylation of Mei2 by both TORC1 and Pat1 kinase is necessary to induce proteasomal degradation of the protein. PMID: 24741065
