Target Background

Function
Probable transcription factor involved in the regulation of interfascicular fiber (cortical cells) and secondary xylem differentiation in the inflorescence stems. Required for lateral shoot meristems (LSMs) and flower meristems (FMs) initiation. May be involved in the determination of vascular patterning and organ polarity. Directly regulates the expression of AGO10, ZPR1, ZPR2, ZPR3 and ZPR4. Required to regulate adaxial-abaxial polarity and leaf axial patterning.
Gene References into Functions
  1. REV acts as a redox-sensitive transcription factor, and directly and positively regulates the expression of WRKY53, a master regulator of age-induced leaf senescence. PMID: 25395454
  2. REV acts upstream of auxin biosynthesis and affects directly the expression of several class II HD-ZIP transcription factors that have been shown to act in the shade-avoidance response pathway. PMID: 22578006
  3. MEKHLA is a negative regulatory domain that prevents dimerization of REV. PMID: 21357492
  4. Class III HD-Zip AND KANADI genes required for root development PMID: 15286295
Subcellular Location
Nucleus.
Protein Families
HD-ZIP homeobox family, Class III subfamily
Tissue Specificity
Expressed in the interfascicular regions of stem and vascular bundles of young roots and leaves.
